Bassala Sambou

Bassala Sambou arrived at Everton from Coventry City on a three-year deal in June 2016.

Born in Hannover, Germany, to Senegalese parents, the energetic striker joined the Sky Blues at Under-15 level and spent two years in their academy before signing his scholarship deal in June 2014.

Sambou impressed with 25 goals in 2015-16 while representing the club's Under-18 and Under-21s sides and was particularly prolific during City's FA Youth Cup run, scoring eight times.

He made his senior Coventry debut under Tony Mowbray in the FA Cup first round against Northampton Town in November 2015.

Sambou enjoyed a productive maiden season with the Toffees, overcoming a couple of injury set-backs to score six goals and help David Unsworth's Under-23s secure the inaugural Premier League 2 title.

In 2017-18, Sambou was a regular for the young Blues, featuring in 20 Premier League 2 matches, scoring three goals and chipping in with three assists.

Sambou claimed his second championship medal in three seasons the following term, featuring in every match of Everton Under-23s' march to the Premier League 2 crown and scoring nine goals.

Sambou added more bullion in the shape of a Premier League Cup winners' medal when Unsworth's team beat Newcastle United at Goodison Park to complete the double.

Contracted until: June 2019
