Ademola Lookman joined Everton in January 2017, signing from Charlton Athletic for an undisclosed fee.

Lookman was born in Wandsworth, south west London, and learned his trade at local junior club Waterloo FC before being snapped up by Charlton’s Academy in summer 2014.

A skilful and direct winger, he swiftly moved through the Addicks’ Under-18 and development sides (17 goals in 28 games for the U18s in 2014-15) before earning a senior debut in November 2015, two weeks after his 18th birthday.

His maiden senior goal came a month later when he notched in a 3-2 defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion but he would remain a regular all season and finished the campaign with five goals.

Despite Charlton being relegated from the Championship, Lookman was named EFL Championship Apprentice of the Year.

The good news continued for Lookman as he was called up to the England Under-19 squad for the European Championship where Jonjoe Kenny was a teammate.

Lookman continued to impress in League One where he was increasingly the main focus of his side’s attacking threat.

He had registered on seven occasions before the Blues swooped to bring him to Goodison Park.

And Lookman got his Everton career off to the dream start.

Stepping off the bench with just one minute remaining, the teenager provided a confident low finish - through the legs of Claudio Bravo - at the Howard Kendall Gwladys Street End to seal a stunning 4-0 victory over Pep Guardiola's Manchester City.

In January 2018 Lookman joined German club RB Leipzig on loan for the second half of the season and netted five times in 11 Bundesliga outings.

He returned to Everton that summer and went on to make 24 appearances for the Blues in 2018-19. He scored with a looping header in the Toffees' 2-1 FA Cup victory over Lincoln City at Goodison Park in January 2019.

Contracted until: June 2021
