Sean Dyche has discussed where he believes Arnaut Danjuma will be best suited in his Everton side.

The forward enjoyed 45 minutes against Stoke City on Saturday afternoon in his first outing in Royal Blue.

Speaking to the media following the 1-0 win, Sean Dyche told the Liverpool Echo the Netherlands international could be best suited in a supporting role.

“I don’t necessarily think he’s an out-and-out centre forward but we need minutes and can only play certain players in certain positions," Dyche told the press.

“I was pleased with the work ethic. We know he can operate in a number of different positions. We know he can play wide or sort of in the nine-and-a-half/10 role, so we’ll see. We think he can offer something, which is why we brought him in.

“It’s 45 minutes. He’s only just got in the building and there was a lot going on with his move here, so we know he’s going to get fitter and sharper.

“I’m certainly not judging him on 45 minutes because I know he’s not fit and sharp enough yet. But we’ll be doing work to get him there.”

In other news, 20-year-old Lewis Dobbin has caught the eye of his manager during pre-season.

A report from The Athletic claims Dyche has been left impressed by Dobbin's efforts in recent weeks.

The media outlet adds that the expectation is for Dobbin to join his Academy teammates and enjoy another loan spell this coming season.

However, the online publication believes Dyche may bring Dobbin in as a part of his plans for the upcoming Premier League campaign.

Finally, the Blues boss has provided a fitness update for Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

He told the Liverpool Echo that the Club will not rush the England international back to the field, and they must take his return to action "a day at a time".

“He’s going well. He trained with us last week and is still crossing over between training and getting the extra fitness work he needs in," Dyche said.

"From what I’m told of his session [on Saturday], it went well. And that was quite a heavy session. We’re happy with that and he seems to be in a good place, so we’re hopeful we can carry on building from that.”
