Ladies Coaching Staff

Welcome, Marco!

Everything you need to know about the new boss here.

Andy Spence

Andy Spence was named as manager of Everton Ladies on 14 November 2012.

Prior to his appointment, Spence had been assistant manager of the Blues since 2004, working under Mo Marley.

In that time, the Club lifted the FA Women's Cup in 2010, the 2008 League Cup and finished runners-up in the Women's Premier League for five successive seasons under former England defender Marley.

Holder of a UEFA A-Licence coaching badge, Spence coached Team GB to a bronze medal at the 2009 World University Games.

He has also held a role as director of the hugely successful Everton Centre of Excellence, which has produced the likes of Toni Duggan, Michelle Hinnigan and Nikita Parris.

Spence stepped down from his role in June 2015 but returned as manager six months later, and twice led the Blue Girls to third place in WSL 2.

However, with the women’s season moving to a winter league, the Football Association introduced a one-off Spring Series. Spence guided his side to the title, winning the competition by four points.

After the removal of Notts County from WSL 1, the Toffees were selected by the FA to step back up to the top flight once again.

Martin Ho

Martin Ho stepped up to become assistant head coach of the Ladies team in January 2016.

Previously he had been involved in the Club’s Centre of Excellence, taking charge of the Under-16s, a role he still combines with assisting Andy Spence.

Having studied his coaching badges at 18, Ho has worked in a variety of environments in both men’s and women’s football.

He was part of the coaching staff that guided the Ladies to the Spring Series title in 2017.
